Hepburn Springs Daylesford
Magnificent waterfalls plunging over incredible rock formations are
just one of many reasons to visit Hepburn Springs Daylesford.
Daylesford, Hepburn and Hepburn Springs are three small towns so
interconnected and interdependent on one another, that most are not
quite sure where one begins and the other ends. Set within the largest
concentration of natural mineral springs anywhere in the world, this
enchanting area has become a must see to everyone visiting the Victoria
area of Australia.
Along with historic parks, Natural Reserves, bushwalks, mountain
biking trails and fabulous forested mountain scenery, you will find some
of the most breathtaking waterfalls nature ever created.
SAILORS FALLS
Located in the Hepburn Regional Park, Sailors Falls is created as
water falls over incredible rock formations stretching beyond a scenic
alcove filled with beautiful brush, flowers and other rock formations.
Easily seen from the roadside as you are driving through the Park,
Sailors Falls is one of the many waterfalls around the area.
THE BLOWHOLE
A man-made tunnel on Sailors Creek was created generations ago during
the mid-nineteenth century. The Blowhole created by this tunnel is a
spectacular site to behold when the creek is flowing fully. The Blowhole
is a monumental testament to the fact that man and nature can live
together in harmony without one damaging the other. It is also a must
see when you are in the Hepburn Regional Park.
TRENTHAM FALLS
The single steepest drop waterfall in the area can be found deep
inside the Wombat State Forest, a short distance from Daylesford and
Hepburn Springs. Formed by rapidly cooling molten lava well over five
million years ago, the lava spread through the Coliban River Valley. The
Trentham Falls descends over basalt rock face directly onto quartz
gravel over 32 meters below.
Fantastic picnicking facilities with both the Falls and forest
surrounding the area makes this an incredible place to spend a few hours
or the entire day. For those who enjoy hiking, a number of walking
tracks are designed for the hikers enjoyment as well as the protection
of the natural vegetation throughout the Reserve.
Regardless of purpose you originally planned your trip to Hepburn
Springs Daylesford, leaving is not an option until you have explored a
little. Be pampered at any of the day spas or Resort Spas available.
Experience the extraordinary cuisine with a glass or bottle of the
increasingly popular wines of the region. Taste the heavenly natural
mineral waters offered free of charge at every Reserve and Park. But
whatever your reasons for your visit, do not cheat yourself of the
opportunity to experience the awe-inspiring wonder of the Waterfalls
that are so close by.
